The food here was perfect. Our guide Lorenza told us about this restaurant. And she was right. Very nice place with great staff. Perfect for a lunch or dinner. Great wine.

Stumbled upon La Latteria while searching for a restaurant that doesn't serve the usual traditional stuff, and indeed we were lucky. We had a baccalà on caramelized onions, a beef tartar with stracciatella (which is pulled mozzarella in cream) with pistachio crumbles and an excellent grilled tuna. The wine offerings is a bit limited, but the food is excellent.

Delicious dinner, relaxing environment, pleasant staff. I had the fava beans with chicory, followed by the cod with mushrooms and potato. Absolutely lovely, with appetising presentation. Was recommended an excellent local wine as an accompaniment.

We had a stressful time getting to Matera. After a long wander we needed food, a rest room and a drink some where nice. Chance was on our side. We fell in to Lalatteria. Beautifully decorated, perfectly formed. Friendly staff excellent food, spotless toilets. Best local fruit beer of the holiday. Best rose wine of the holiday. Thank you Lalatteria xx
